March 2018: It has come to my attention that a fraudulent entity posing as a conference organizer is sending out emails with a spoofed From: address (not mine) and the subject line Autschbach, J , Inviting you to participate at New Material and Chemical Industry 2018, Sanya, China (or perhaps variations thereof). Please do not click on the very suspicious links in the email. Simply delete it. Needless to say that I did not initiate this email.

Prospective graduate students, postdocs, and visitors:

We are always interested in recruiting talented graduate students into our computational chemistry research program. If you are considering to apply for the graduate program in our Department and you are interested in computational or theoretical chemistry feel free to contact me or my colleague Dr. Zurek for further information.

If you are interested in a postdoc position and your research background matches our portfolio please send me your resume. Open positions become available from time to time.

Visiting graduate students and senior visiting researchers are very welcome. Funding is always tight, so it helps a lot if you have a stipend / scholarship for the visit.

Internships: (i) Availability of funding permitting, we may be able to offer summer research positions to undergraduate students if they are US citizens or permanent residents and have had prior training in computational chemistry, or scientific programming experience. (ii) We are not able to offer internships to foreign nationals unless they are able to support the visit financially and have a completed undergraduate degree in chemistry or a related field.
